Inaugural lecturer, Tim Flannery

Well known author, palaeontologist and Director of the South Australian Museum, Dr Tim Flannery, gave the inaugural Norman Wettenhall Memorial Lecture leaving his audience in no doubt that the pursuit of sustainability ought to be seen as essential to the survival of the human species.

With his long standing commitment to popularising science and its application to the Australian environment, Tim Flannery's name is one of the first to spring to mind when you ask who is at the forefront of the public debate on making sense of our continent's unique ecosystems and what needs to be done to preserve their fragile biodiversity. Author of the acclaimed The Future Eaters, Tim Flannery has written nine books and 90 papers.
