Balnarring Primary School

Balbiroo Community Wetlands

$1,200

$9,500
This project is part of the 'Overarching RiverConnect Project' that will see the Goulburn River duly recognised as the life and soul of the Shepparton-Mooroopna communities. The RiverConnect Education Review (2006) identified the need for an Education Coordinator to asist with the development and implementation of various educational projects throughout the area.

Regent Honeyeater Project

$20,000
2007 is the 13th year of the project's operation and this funding will support several different aspects of the habitat restoration. $4,800
The Foundation has contributed funds towards the Festival, which aims to celebrate the diversity of bird species of the Box Ironbark forest in order to educate and raise awareness of the complexity and sensitivity of the environment that surrounds us.

Australian National University

School of Resources, Environment and Society, The response of birds to the fire regimes of mulga woodland in Central Australia

$5,000
This grant represents operational funding to support the fieldwork component of the research by PhD Candidate, Adam Leavesley, and will fully fund the fieldwork budget. Funds will be used to cover the cost of operating a vehicle and maintaining communications during the 2006/2007 field season which is substantially complete.

The University of Melbourne

Determining the effects of seagrass fragmentation on fish species

$4,125
PhD Student Peter Macreadie sought funding for his research which will investigate the importance of Australia's native seagrasses to fish populations. The objectives of the study are to gain a better understanding of how fish respond to fragmentation and loss of seagrass, and to study fish movement pattern in seagrass of varying degrees of fragmentation.
